Personal Stories (two part session)
This session will feature two presentations in which individual students share their personal stories of intersecting identities, and invite others to join the conversation. The first presenter, Johanna Moss, will share stories of growing up, surviving rape, finding my own religion, and coming to terms with who I am and the direction I am going in. The second presenter, Melissa Faigal, will explore issues facing second-generation immigrants and the incongruity of being Filipino yet not fitting into the Philippines.
Creating Safe Space for GLBT Students, Faculty and Staff
This session will demonstrate how GLBT curriculum, service learning, and Safe Space training programs at the College of St. Benedict/St. Johns University can help create visibility and safe space for GLBT students, faculty and staff, and allies. The presentation will include a video and discussion of current initiatives at CSB/SJU.
