Research Grant Forms
Because of the number of students seeking UR program support for their scholarly work, the Grants program has been increasingly competitive. Your grant should include specific information about your plans for research, presentation, performance, or publication. Note: Proposals will not be considered until an email of support has been received from your advisor.
Research Grant Application
These are small grants to help students with the direct cost of research or creative works. Student research grants are intended to defray the direct costs of conducting scholarly or creative work. Expenses covered might include art supplies, chemicals, specialized glassware, expendable supplies, or the costs of copying a survey instrument or musical program. Grant amounts range from $50-$600, with a typical amount of about $300.
UR Travel Grant Application
These support travel by students to meetings to present their work or to travel to galleries and museums related to their creative projects. Most of your travel expenses to present research can be reiumbursed, including lodging, plane fare, and registration fees. Direct costs of preparing a talk or poster can also be included in your grant award. Travel grants are generally around $300, but for a national meeting it may be up to a maximum $750.
NCUR Travel Grant Application
These grants support travel expenses for CSB/SJU students to the Spring NCUR meeting to present scholarly and creative work. Most of your expenses for this meeting will be covered through group rates and registrations rather than through individual reimbursements. Participants are expected to contribute to the cost of attending the conference. Number of students supported, amounts covered and individual contribution amount are determined annually based on the number of participants and funding availability. This application is only available during the conference registration period, Oct. 3, 2011 through Nov. 15, 2011. Travel grant applications must be submitted as part of the application process to allow planning and coordination. Final decisions will not be made until acceptance from NCUR has been announced, typically mid-January.
