Scholarship Policies

Scholarships are available for students who meet the criteria.

Scholarships for Full-Time Student

Awards for full time degree seeking students are apportioned in two parts: 1) a tuition scholarship and  2) a work award or research assistantship.  Students who receive a graduate assistantship receive the scholarship, a work award, and sometimes a living stipend.

  1. Scholarships, ranging from 40% to 100% of the tuition, are awarded to degree seeking students at the time of approval.  If the recipient receives a graduate assistantship, the tuition scholarship portion of the award remains the same as for the initial scholarship.

  2. Scholarships are applicable only to consecutive academic terms of full time study (9-12 credits per term) and are automatically renewed for students who continue to meet the criteria.  Audited credits can count toward full time status providing at least one course is for credit.

  3. Scholarships for full time students who drop to part time study are reduced by approximately 35%; ie, an 80% full time scholarship becomes 45% for part time study.

  4. Scholarships for the summer sessions, ranging from 30% to 40% of the tuition, are available to full time, degree seeking students registered for 6 credits or more.

  5. Students who wish to defer enrollment or to discontinue enrollment will need to compete with a new pool of applicants for scholarships available at the time of re-entry.

  6. Scholarship recipients must demonstrate satisfactory progress towards completion of the requirements for the approved degree program.

Scholarships for Part-Time Students

  1. Scholarships, ranging from 20% to 50% of the tuition, are awarded to part time, degree seeking students registered for fewer than 9 credits in an academic term.

  2. Scholarships for part time students are automatically renewed for students who enroll in consecutive academic terms and who continue to meet the criteria.

  3. Scholarships for the summer session, ranging from 30% to 40% of the tuition, are available only to full time, degree seeking students registered for 6 credits or more.  Full time status can be comprised of credit bearing courses as well as audited courses.

  4. Students who wish to defer enrollment or to discontinue enrollment will need to compete with a new pool of applicants for scholarships available at the time of re-entry.

  5. Scholarship recipients must demonstrate satisfactory progress towards completion of the requirements for the approved degree program.
