Nick Moe

Nick Moe Sustainability Fellow

Nick graduated in 2007 with majors in physics and music. After earning an MS in electrical engineering at Stanford University, he returned to Collegeville to study liturgical music and pipe organ performance at the School of Theology. He began working with the Sustainability Office in August 2010. When he isn't cooking, baking, backpacking, or practicing organ, he works principally on energy efficiency and conservation measures with Physical Plant at Saint John's.

Zach Shriwise Sustainability Intern

Zach is currently a Senior Minoring in Environmental Studies and Majoring in Global Business Leadership. The Saint John's Sustainability Office was a great fit for Zach to learn more about his passions in energy efficiency and sustainable business management. Outside of his internship, he enjoys the outdoors, King of the Dock on Lake Sag, spending time with his fellow Bennies and Johnnies and just letting the good times roll. Zach is also a part of SIFE, the Saint John's Tennis Team and is an orientation leader for incoming CSB/SJU students.

Theo Eggermont: Joint Sustainability Fellow Emeritus

Theo Eggermont graduated from Saint John's University in 2008, majoring in Environmental Studies. He worked as the Sustainability Fellow for both CSB and SJU from August 2009 to June 2011. He is now an Assistant Director of Student Activities and Leadership Development. He enjoys cooking and baking bread, canoeing, sailing, self sufficiency, community, and for some reason yet unknown, backpacking.

Carlos Dabu Sustainability Intern

Carlos is a Junior Environmental Studies Major. Active in the sustainability clubs on campus, it was a perfect fit for Carlos to get an internship in a office where has can share his passions. He is very interested in spreading the awareness of sustainability and its practices to Johnnies and the CSB/SJU community. Carlos and his fellow interns are working towards a new campaign on the Saint John's campus.

Austin Jacobs Sustainability Intern

Austin is currently a Senior Biology/Environmental Studies Major. He became involved with the Sustainability Office because of his love for the environment. Austin and his fellow interns are currently working on a new campaign for St. John's.

Ashley LaLiberte Sustainability Intern

Ashley is currently a CSB sophomore with a Communication/Hispanic Studies double major. Ashley is very excited to be working in the SJU Sustainability office as an intern. Ashley is especially interested in getting Johnnies more involved in sustainability and learning more about sustainability herself. Collectively, Ashley and her fellow interns are working towards a new campaign on the Saint John's campus.

Ben Roske: Sustainability Intern

Ben joined the St. John's Office of Sustainability in January, 2011 and will be graduating in May with majors in Environmental Studies and Pre-Engineering.  His interest in sustainability derives from his enjoyment of the outdoors, and is most passionate about increasing student involvement in sustainability initiatives and energy-related issues.  Throughout the semester, Ben will be working primarily on the Energy Challenge and STARS. When he's not in the office, Ben enjoys playing music, spending time with friends, and ultimate frisbee.

Lief Davisson: Sustainability Intern

Lief is a senior Environmental Studies major/Music minor at Saint John's. He joined the Saint John's Office of Sustainability in February, 2011. His interest in the environment and the sustainability movement can be traced back to the Introduction to Environmental Studies class that he took freshman year, which inspired him to choose ES as his major. Since then he has spent a considerable amount of time working in the Saint John's Arboretum as a student laborer, and in the winter as the ski trail groomer for the Nordic Ski team. Lief has been spending the semester writing a guide to green living on campus, and working on STARS accreditation for the University. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his roommates, ultimate frisbee, and cooking.

Br. Lew Grobe OSB: Sustainability Associate

Lew is a 2006 graduate of CSB/SJU, majoring in German and the Humanities. Before joining our office, Lew was a Fulbright Fellow in Berlin, a Saint John's Benedictine Volunteer in Tanzania, and an Admission Representative for CSB/SJU. He is also a monk of Saint John's Abbey. Being outside and working with others is what he enjoys.

Eric Immler

Eric Immler: Sustainability Intern

Eric is majoring in Natural Science with an Environmental Studies minor. Currently, he is investigating energy monitoring systems with Nick and Lew for the residential buildings on the Saint John’s campus.

Nina Oyakawa

Nina Oyakawa: Sustainability Intern

Nina is an Environmental Studies and Nutrition major. As an intern she has worked on an orientation video about campus sustainability, researched light switch stickers and edited the forthcoming SJU Campus Green Guide.
