It is the intention of the relationship team to identify and implement activities that serve to help each member of the SELT community more fully understand and demonstrate the Benedictine value of hospitality. We specifically assert that SELT participants commit, by membership, to demonstrate a “deep respect for the individual person, a commitment to the development of each person, and the persuasive attention to the needs of the individual.
In an ongoing pledge to hospitality – to “listening with the ear of your heart” – SELT team members and guests are encouraged to contact a member of the relationship team for discussion about hospitable or inhospitable experiences related to SELT gatherings. Unless otherwise indicated by overt agreement, all such discussions will remain confidential.

The CSB/SJU Student Employment Strategic Team was formed: Ruth Bielejeski, Lisa Dopp, Barb Fahnhorst, Shay Hellman, Valerie Knopp-Pederson, John May, Karla Myres, Kathy Stommes, and Ryan VanDeWiele.
A grant for $7,490 was written to Kellogg with the following abstract:
In order to expand and assess student leadership opportunities beyond residence programs and athletics, it is our goal to increase student leadership opportunities through student employment. It is our aim to provide experiences in leadership through student employment by providing training opportunities for supervisors of student employees and student employees, to strengthen the importance of student employment as part of lifelong leadership development.
