Description of Course:
Interpersonal communication is often one of the most challenging aspects of any job or workplace. To communicate successfully we need to find a balanced approach to dealing with difficult people or conversations. Most of us have heard about “I” statements and we know about passive, aggressive, and assertive communication—therefore, let’s move from those topics to the fascinating world of workplace personalities. Do you understand the people you work with? In this one hour course, participants will learn about workplace personalities and tips on how to effectively communicate with different workplace personalities.

Description of Course
Background on the increasing presence of intercultural students on the CSB/SJU campus will be presented. A discussion about the goals and approaches to retaining these students on campus will include small group discussions. Finally, the group will develop a list of skills required to supervise a diverse workspace.
