SJU 2011 Philosophy Graduate - James Darcy
The Colorado Summer Seminar was an intensive philosophy boot camp of sorts. We had three hours of class every day, along with daily discussion groups and a couple of papers. It was a lot of work, but it was incredibly rewarding and enriching to eat, drink, and sleep philosophy for three weeks with a group of people who care just as deeply about the subject as you do.
Not only that, but we were in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and there is no feeling quite like the one you get while trying to have a serious philosophical discussion at high altitude. Personally, the seminar served not only as a sneak peak at graduate level study but an affirmation of why philosophy is such a fascinating and enjoyable subject.
