Benjamin Rogalla is an Ambassador who studied abroad in Greece and Italy.
Briefly describe a specific cultural experience you had on your trip that made a lasting impression.
Living with the people and how they lived is what I miss. They are so nice and live at such a slower, different pace than we do here. Seeing everything is amazing as well.
Why did you choose the program in which you participated?
I wanted to get the amazing experience other people said they had when they went. I also love traveling and learning about different places as well. I chose Greece and Italy because I loved Italy and wanted to return, but also knew nothing about Greece and wanted to see what it had to offer.
Describe your overall study abroad experience.
It is the most unbelievable learning experience you can go on. You learn about the country, culture, etc., but you also learn about yourself. I loved seeing the history and what the country had to offer.
How has the trip affected you? How are you different for having completed the experience?
It as made me more the individual I am and wanting to become a world traveler. I am able to feel like I can travel anywhere! It gave me a different view on those places I have been, but also on the world itself.
What advice do you have for future Study Abroad Students?
Be open and flexible. Things happen that you just have to let happen. Take advantage of it and do what you want to do or what you can do! But also spend time where you are living as well.
