Program Cost

Airfare - Sample:  MSP to Toyko =~$1,600 - $2,300
International Insurance and Student card         $22
Youth Hostel or hotel in Tokyo (~$120 per night) x 2 $220
Train fr or to airport return  $50
Lodging-Intern Student Hall ~$25 per day x 30 $750
Meals ~$30 per day x 30 days     = ~$ 700- $1,000
Ground transportation to schools (walk to K) Subway to other schools     = ~$3.00 per day x 20 days = $60
Subway fares - exploration ~$10 per day x 15 days  = ~$150
Personal entertainment ??
TOTAL Estimated Expenses =~$3,550 - $4,350
Minus stipend              = -$500

Requirements

  • Completed application
  • Approval by ITE Committee
  • Once approved and notified, Education will register you for EDUC 368 (2)
  • Signed contract with Education regarding EDUC 368 and stipend requirements
  • Attendance at two pre  and one post ITE cohort meetings
  • Valid passport at time of departure- Cost $110, it takes between 4-6 weeks. You can ask to have it expedited (return in 2-3 weeks) for an additional $60
  • Visa - Belize, Germany, and Japan all of 90 guest visa arrangements so no visa is needed. Remember when you arrive you are to state you are there as a tourist only not for business or as a worker.
