German language, European history, culture, art and politics are the primary focus of the Austria study abroad program, based in Salzburg. A favorite in the European treasure chest of urban gems, Salzburg claims a rich and well-preserved history mixed with a modern urban lifestyle. The CSB/SJU Salzburg program takes advantage of that setting as a conduit for real-life learning and understanding.
- Salzburg is small enough to easily navigate on foot, yet large enough to offer a wide array of opportunities.
- Salzburg is the birthplace of Mozart and has been home to many famous musicians and artists. This artistic culture is prevalent throughout the area. The hills are alive...
- The University of Salzburg serves more than 14,000 students who bring to Salzburg a wide variety of activities.
German language instruction is an integral part of the academic program in Salzburg. In addition to German language and grammar, courses taught in English in art history, political science and philosophy are offered. Learn more about the Fall 2012 study abroad seminar course here. All courses are offered to only CSB/SJU students. New for Fall 2012: only one semester of college German or equivalent proficiency is required.
