Australia
CSB|SJU students on the Australia program enroll directly at the University of Notre Dame Australia (UNDA) in Fremantle. Located in Western Australia, Notre Dame follows the tradition and practices of Catholic higher education. Notre Dame is committed to a personalized education, underpinned by pastoral care and support for all its students. Degrees and courses are offered in the following disciplines: Arts & Sciences, Business, Education (Teaching), Health Sciences, Law, Medicine, Nursing and Philosophy & Theology.
Academics
CSB|SJU students take one course (Study Abroad Seminar) from their CSB|SJU faculty director. The second course required for all students is the Australian History and Culture course, taught by a UNDA faculty member. Finally, students choose three courses from the Academic Course Catalog at UNDA. This combination of courses makes UNDA a great selection for most CSB|SJU students.
Exact course selections at UNDA are only available a few months before the semester begins, however courses tend to be repeated from year to year. Students can consult past Academic Catalogs for more information about potential course offerings.

Accommodations
Students live in dorm-like accommodations called the P&O Hotel. This is located in the heart of downtown Fremantle, close to the academic buildings of UNDA. The P&O Hotel is a refurbished hotel which now includes student rooms (double occupancy), shared bathrooms, living areas, and cooking facilities.
Program Highlights
- An immersion experience with an Australian Aboriginal culture.
- Live in Fremantle, one of the oldest port cities in Australia. The renovated downtown warehouse area now houses the campus of UNDA.
- The ability to dive into all of the offerings of UNDA. Students choose to join clubs, organizations, sports teams, volunteer, or even find a part-time job. (As a part of the student visa stipulations in Australia, American students are authorized to work up to 20 hours per week.) There is a high level of interaction with Australian students, professors, and the culture.
Program Dates
The approximate program dates for Australia are mid-July to late November (fall semester) and mid-February to late June (spring semester).
