Special awards
OSB Outstanding Administrator Award - Jeff Wubbels, events services manager at SJU.
The award, named in honor of Fr. Vincent Tegeder, OSB, recognizes service and excellence within the Saint John's administrative community - someone who embodies the spirit of Saint John's, provides quality service and makes a powerful contribution to Saint John's. Wubbels has been at SJU for 12 years following a stint as a children's camp director. He serves as a facilitator and coordinates events and meeting spaces on campus; works cooperatively in a planning role with campus departmental staff to make sure that all facility concerns are addressed in the planning process; and supports summer conferences, camps and events with a primary focus on housing and facilities.

WOW Awards - This award was given to eight people who were recognized for their contributions to the CSB campus. The recipients were: Catherine Stoch and Diane Calabria (foundation relations), for their work in securing a $600,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to help attract, retain and graduate more women in mathematics, physics and computer science; Brian Jose and Brooke Horejsi (Fine Arts Programming), for their creativity in programming, connecting artists to students and thoroughly entertaining and inspiring the community through the fine arts; Mark Conway (Literary Arts Institute), winner of the 2009 American Poetry Journal Book prize for his manuscript, Dreaming Man, Face Down; Sarah Simpson (admission), for using exceptional creativity in social media to reach prospective students through engaging, informative and intriguing electronic communications; and Randy Hammond (information technology services) and Barbara Hein (communication and marketing services), who helped achieve a new look to the CSB and SJU website.
