Requirements: Sing a song of your choice (No pop/rock please). Range and tonal memory will be checked and you will be asked for background information.

  • Auditions: August 26th and August 27th (SEE THE SMALL ENSEMBLE ROOM (D048) DOOR IN THE BAC TO SIGN UP FOR AN AUDITION)

Requirements:

  • Play a piece of your choice.
  • Sight read one excerpt
  • Chromatic scale

Location: String Studio – D-045 in the BAC, CSB

Requirements:

  • Play any solo piece of your choice (may include orchestral excerpts)
  • Play any scale of your choice
  • Sight read one excerpt
  • solo players—no lab conflicts permitted (includes principal strings, woodwinds, brass)
  • section players-one missed rehearsal (for lab) permitted per cycle

First rehearsal: Monday, August 30, 2:40 p.m.
Additional Rehearsals: October 21, 7:00 - 10:00 pm

Additional Ensembles

CHAMBER ORCHESTRA (MUSC 240)

If there is enough interest, we will form a chamber orchestra which will include 8 violins, 3 violas, 2 cellos, and 1 bass. There are several performance opportunities available. This will be determined by interest and schedules/availability. Contact: Foster Beyers

BRASS CHOIR - (MUSC 242):

  • permission of instructor required
  • Rehearsals: Wednesday evenings from 4:15 until 5:15 p.m.

PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE - (MUSC 243):
