Where: M Street Café at the St. Paul Hotel, St. Paul, MN When: 6:00-8:00 PM
Polidazzleis a McCarthy Center networking event for CSB/SJU students, alums, staff, faculty, and others who are interested in public policy and civic life. This reception originally coincided with the Minneapolis "Holidazzle" parade, but we have since moved it to St. Paul. The gathering offers an excellent opportunity for current students to meet alumnae/i who are active in civic and political life as professionals or volunteers. Feel free to invite others who may be interested. This is an open house reception with drinks and abundant hors d'oeurvres.
Space for Polidazzle is limited! Ticket prices are $10 for CSB/SJU students, $25 for friends of the McCarthy Center. Tickets may be purchased be registering here.

Politics & A Pint: Farm Bill

What is the "Farm Bill?" Come hear student, club, and professor perspectives on this timely topic. All aspects of the Farm Bill will be explored, including agriculture policy and SNAP (also known as Food Stamps).
Free pizza and refreshments. All ages and majors welcome.

"Rivers, Roads, and Tracks: Transforming Minnesota's Economy"
Celebrating the Joe Parry Professorship with Dr. Louis Johnston
Where: Quad 264 When: 7:30 PM
The newly named Joe Farry Professor, Dr. Louis Johnston, will give a brief talk about the economic history of central Minnesota and particularly the shifts in transportation modes and consequential impacts on economic stakeholders. He will then be joined by the legendary Gary Eichten and Dr. Joe Farry for a special interview segment honoring Dr. Farry and the endowed professorship.
Event will include special guests: President Michael Hemesath, Dr. Joe Farry, Gary Eichten, and Dan Whalen.

The Theater of Public Policy is a unique improv theater company out of Minneapolis that makes debate and conversation around big issues fun and engaging. The cast uses conversations with leading thinkers to bring current debates to life through improvisational comedy. The College of Saint Benedict president, MaryAnn Baenninger, PhD, and Saint John's University president Dr. Michael Hemesath, star in this entertaining exploration of the issues affecting higher education today.
