The Abbey Archives, founded in 1871, is the depository for all official papers of St. John's Abbey (e.g., abbatial papers; Chapter, Senior Council, and committee minutes; legal and ecclesiastical documents; financial records; correspondence series of individual monks; and publications). Also included are manuscript histories, letters, diaries, journals, sermons, oral histories, and other memorabilia. Open to researchers by appointment only.

The University Archives is the depository for the offices of Saint John's University, Saint John's Preparatory School, and the Collegeville Institute for Ecumenical and Cultural Research.
