Wireless Guest Connections

Guest wireless access is available at the College of Saint Benedict in the Clemens Library, Benedicta Arts Center, Gorecki Dining & Conference Center and Main Building and at Saint John's University in the Alcuin Library and Quadrangle. If you want to connect to the CSB/SJU wireless network, you can obtain a guest account from the Library Reference staff on either campus. If you are a CSB/SJU Staff or Faculty, complete the online form to request a guest wireless account. Once the account is created, follow the steps below to connect your personal computer to the CSB/SJU wireless network.

Instructions for Guests Connecting to the CSB/SJU Wireless Network

Instructions for Windows 7

Open Connect to a Network by clicking the network icon in the notification area.
On the Wireless Network Connection list, click Guest, and then click Connect.
- Note: In some cases, you may need to refresh the list of available networks by clicking the refresh icon in the upper-right corner of the wireless network window.
Wait a moment while the new connection is established.
After the connection is established, open an internet browser (i.e. Internet Explorer).
Type in your username and password for wireless that you received from the Library Reference staff.

Instructions for Windows Vista

Click the Start button.
Click Connect To.
Double click on Guest.
After the connection is established, open an internet browser (i.e. Internet Explorer)
Type in your username and password for wireless that you received from the Library Reference staff.

Instructions for Windows XP

Right-click the Wireless Network Connection icon in the system tray, and click View Available Wireless Networks.
Double click on the Guest wireless connection
After the connection is established, open an internet browser (i.e. Internet Explorer)
Type in your username and password for wireless that you received from the Library Reference staff.

Instructions for Macintosh

From the Airport menu and select Guest
After the connection is established, open an internet browser (i.e. Safari)
Type in your username and password for wireless that you received from the Library Reference staff.

Instructions for iOS Devices

Press the Home button to return to the home screen (with all the icons).
Tap Settings.
Tap Wi-Fi.
Make sure Wi-Fi is on.
From the Choose a Network list, tap Guest.
After the connection is established, open Safari.
Type in your username and password for wireless that you received from the Library Reference staff.
