Want to Attend a Class?
No registration necessary. ILCP classes are free and open to the entire campus community, students and staff. You may attend classes at any time they are offered with the option to earn leadership certification.

How Do You Choose Which Classes to Attend?

Choosing a class is easy; choose the one(s) that most interest you! Sometimes specific classes are geared  toward a position that you hold in a job or club, or a class that you are taking this semester. Other times employers, professors, or club leaders will promote attendance at a specific ILCP class. You choose which classes fit into your schedule and best meet your needs to build your authentic leadership potential.

How Do You Know When Classes are Scheduled?

ILCP classes are scheduled Monday through Thursday throughout the academic year.  Also, watch for emails, posters and other promotional material around campus to find out how to get involved.

What Should You Bring to Class?

ILCP participants should bring their Student ID’s with them to class. The Student Leadership Development Team will take attendance before class begins by scanning Student’s ID cards. This is how students receive credit for attending a class. Also, remember to bring a pen/pencil and paper.

Do Classes Transfer From Year-to-Year?

All ILCP classes will transfer from year-to-year as long as the participant is a student at the College of Saint Benedict or Saint John’s University.

How Can You Receive Credit for “Other Optional ILCP Credits”?

The “Other Optional ILCP Credits” listed after each certificate are options in which students who attend or  participate in such events have the opportunity to submit a reflection of their experiences, and upon approval from the ILCP Director, receive those credit(s).

How Do You Earn a Certificate?

Attend at least 6 or 7 classes within a certificate level--3 or 4 Required classes (depending upon the certificate), and a minimum of 3 Optional classes and submit a reflection summary for review and approval from the ILCP Director. Upon reflection approval, you will receive notice of completion in the form of an email.

How Will You Know When to Complete Your Reflection Summary?

You will be notified when you have completed class requirements toward certification, and you will be directed to complete the reflective summary online. This notification will come in the form of an email from the ILCP Director and the Student Leadership Development Team.

Want to Check Your Progress with ILCP?
Individuals can check their own progress by going to the ILCP webpage, and by clicking on the link that says: Check Your Progress. From here participants should be able to enter their name and/or Student ID number and have access to the list of ILCP classes they have attended.
Access the Check Your Progress Page

How do You Complete Your Certificate Reflection Summary & What is it?
Once you have attended the 3 or 4 Required classes (depending upon the certificate) and a minimum of 3 Optional classes for a particular certificate, it is time to write your reflection summary! You can access the links to each certificate's reflection by going to the ILCP website. Once you have reached your certificate's reflection page there will be instructions detailing what you need to do next.

Your reflection summary asks that you take time to reflect and write upon what you learned while attending classes. It will ask you to share how you have applied the things you have learned through your actions, behaviors and deeds.

Reflections may be submitted at any time throughout the year, including the summer. However, in order to attend the Inspiring Leaders Recognition Banquet (see description on page 24), summaries must be submitted by a Spring deadline (usually April 1st) specified on our webpage.
