Purpose

The  Spit. Speak. Slam.  Open Mic Night, hosted by the Intercultural Center, is an expression venue for students to engage the community through performances on a given theme. This monthly event will invite students to share their poetry, essays, spoken word, music or comedy. Students are challenged to share and showcase their talents in a safe and open environment while participants and audience alike reflect on the given theme of the evening. 

Guidelines:

• Content will not demean or disparage any race, ethnic group, religion, sexual identity or sexual orientation. 
• No obscene or sexually explicit lyrics will be used. 
• No religious clothing or paraphernalia is to be used.
• No lewd gestures.
