The Quilt: The Art of Our Community

Color, pattern and texture narrate the beauty and rich storytelling quality of the quilt.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Fine Arts Programming at the College of Saint Benedict is seeking quilt submissions for the 2012-2013 Visual Arts Season.  The exhibition will feature quilts from our community.  This is a professional visual arts exhibition where we hope to honor community quilters' works and collections. We are seeking quilts with a story. 

Tell us about the origin of the quilt, its life, its importance to you or your family. Stories may be historical, cultural, poetic, humorous or deal with social issues and concerns. Entries for the exhibition will be selected based upon the creativity of the quilt as well as the story behind it and will also be based upon the variety and cohesiveness the quilt brings to the exhibition.

ELIGIBILITY: We welcome all shapes and sizes but due to a limited amount of 8' wall height we strongly encourage your submissions to be 96" or shorter. Wall quilts in the size range of 52" x 63" or quilted runners in the size range of 28" x 80" are preferred.
