Iron Maidens - Multiple UK & US Artists

Iron Maidens showcases the sculptural iron casting of Welsh, English and American women. Inspired by the many established women iron casters from America who were working in Wales and the UK, curator Dilys Jackson organized the show to feature these women along with the iron work of women from the burgeoning UK sculptural iron casting community.

The UK tour of Iron Maidens included exhibitions at Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre, Cwmbran, 2009, Art Central, Barry, 2010 (as part of the Women's Arts Association Open Exhibition celebrating International Women's Day), The International Conference of Contemporary Cast Iron Art at Kidwelly Industrial Museum, 2010, The Fire and Iron Gallery, Leatherhead, 2010 (selections), Pontardawe Arts Centre 2011 and the Denbigh Library Gallery, 2011.  Iron Maidens debuted its U.S. tour at the Catherine G. Murphy Gallery at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN in 2011.
