The Quilt: The Art of Our Community

Color, pattern, and texture narrate the beauty and rich storytelling quality of the quilt.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION: The exhibition will feature quilts from our community. This is a professional visual arts exhibition where we hope to honor community quilters' works and collections.

At the reception: CSB graduate, Mary Willette Hughes '54, will read poems from her book Quilt Pieces and selected exhibiting artists will share their own quilt stories.

Related Event: The CSB/SJU Theater Department will be presenting the play Quilters by Molly Newman and Barbara Damashek, March 7-9 and 14-16 at 7:30 p.m. and March 10 at 2:00 p.m. Combining music, dance and theater, the play blends a series of interrelated scenes into a rich mosaic which caputres the sweep and beauty, the terror and joy, the harsh challenge and abiding rewards of frontier life.
