Hot Club of San Francisco Cinema Vivant
Imagine yourself in the idyllic French countryside in the 1930s. Sometime before dark, a gypsy caravan sets up camp in a field outside of town, luring the locals out for an evening's fun. The Hot Club of San Francisco evokes Paris in the 1930s and offers a swinging beat with a sweet melody.
For this concert, the Hot Club of San Francisco presents Cinema Vivant, an evening of vintage silent films accompanied by live gypsy swing.

Join Hot Club of San Fransisco's director Paul Mehling in a visit to the smoky cabarets of 1930s Paris for an introduction to the Gypsy Swing genre! The story of Gypsy Swing is part mystery, part bravado, part genius, and several parts World War II. Through this combination of lecture and live musical performance, Paul will provide an historical context as he charts the development of this unique genre.
Enjoy a French spin on the night with Parisian chicken, a mixed greens strawberry salad, julienned carrots, fresh cut fruit and a classic tiramisu for dessert.
