Studio One
|
Studio One is CSB/SJU's student-run literary magazine. Free copies are distributed on both campuses in April. We accept postmarked poetry, prose (1000 word limit), and art. You may send as many pieces as you wish; you do not need to be affiliated with CSB/SJU to enter your work. Studio One accepts staff members from all majors to help select material for its annual publication. We meet once a week at CSB to judge submissions; meetings generally last about an hour. We ask that you read the assigned material before each meeting. Art judging takes place at the end of the year. This is a great opportunity to gain editorial experience or share your creative work with the literary community. A staff position is an impressive resume builder for students interested in publishing, editing or writing careers. And publication in a literary magazine is an important first step for aspiring writers. Contact us at studio1@csbsju.edu |

"I am a Peace Studies/Biology major with plans to go to dental school after my graduation in 2013. Although I am not an English major, I have cultivated a love of literature ever since my mother read Beatrix Potter's stories to me as an infant! I joined Studio One my freshman year because of this love, and I was not disappointed. Over the years, I have greatly enjoyed discovering new nuggets of literary gold with the rest of the Studio One staff. I am very excited to continue this process of discovery as one of Studio One's editors this year, and I look forward to sharing the talent of aspiring writers and artists with the CSB/SJU community and beyond!" |
