Disability Services
Who We Are
The CSB/SJU Office of Disability Services was created in 2011 as an ongoing measure of support to our student community. The office, which functions as a branch of Academic Advising, provides accommodations and auxiliary aids to students with documented disabilities.
The CSB/SJU community is dedicated to providing an inclusive environment in which all of our learners can be successful. As an ongoing measure of support to our student community, the campus has created the office of Disability Services. This office, which functions as a branch of Academic Advising, provides accommodations to students with documented disabilities. The Disability Services office is located on the CSB Campus, in room 212 of the Academic Services Building.
The Office of Disability Services is here to ensure that students with documented disabilities receive reasonable accommodations. We strive to maintain compliance with state and federal disability laws. Our desire to advocate for and provide accommodations for students with disabilities is rooted in the core of our Benedictine Values, which include: dignity of work, hospitality, stewardship, truthful living, justice, moderation, listening, common good, awareness of God, community living, taking counsel and respect for persons.
You Have The Ability
If you have a disability, or are concerned that you may have a disability, you are not alone. Approximately 150 students at the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University have some form of documented physical, medical or learning disability. CSB/SJU are committed to providing appropriate access to facilities and learning opportunities. We believe all students have the ability to succeed; disabilities need not become a barrier to academic success. Our faculty and staff work carefully to ensure that students have the resources necessary to meet their goals.
Our Goals
- Promote increased accessibility.
- Provide appropriate accommodations as mandated by Federal Law.
- Advocate for our student population.
- Promote independence.
- Serve as a resource and collaborate with faculty and staff.
