Concentratons within the Chemistry Major
We offer concentrations in Chemical Biology, Environmental Chemistry, and Materials/Industrial Chemistry so that students, either non- or American Chemical Society (ACS) -certified, can focus in areas of modern chemistry. One of the most compelling reasons to offer concentrations is to provide students with a modern but flexible curriculum that maximizes choice.
- Concentrations would be advantageous to students because a distinct area of study would appear on the transcript;
- Concentrations would offer more choices to students. While students do not have to declare a concentration, they may choose from three;
- Students could defer a decision on concentrations until senior year, making the process relatively easy to administrate and advise
