Summer Global Practicum

College graduates need an international perspective to be competitive in today's job market. Many will have to negotiate foreign cultures whether they work in the United States or abroad. As part of this continuing change, international college internships should now be viewed as steppingstones to career success -- The Chronicle of Higher Education

Program Overview

The Summer Global Practicum program, open to current students and graduating seniors, provides international experiential learning programs that feature internships in business and non-profit organizations, academic/scientific research projects, teaching experiences and more. The program's various experiential learning opportunities are developed by CSB/SJU faculty and staff through institutional, professional and personal contact networks. All feature local coordinators who work with The Center for Global Education to facilitate each program and serve an as on-site resource for students.

Many of the 22 CSB/SJU students in the Summer 2012 program describe their practicums in Bosnia, Vietnam and China as utterly transformative experiences. The Summer Global program is open to all CSB/SJU students and graduating seniors, who may also apply for a competitive fellowship to fund all or part of their programs. Details and applications for the summer 2013 program will be available on-line in November.
