Accomplishments
Throughout the production, research, and marketing processes, it is the intention of our organization to get students involved as fully as possible. Working with partner organizations abroad, on-campus clubs, and the alumni association, we will also provide explicit opportunities to other students for continued action. Such action pieces have included:
· Inspiring the brewing of fair trade coffee for CSB/SJU coffee shops
· Forming a partnership with the Uganda Rural Fund (URF) by sending funds and supplies to the URF through coordinated jewelry sale efforts, which are sold at the CSB bookstore, the Clemens Perk Coffee shop, as well as various events sponsored by Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and Extending the Link
· Purchasing and selling knitted accessories from Padhma Creations in Nepal (These products are now available for purchase in the CSB Bookstore on campus)
· Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) sent two students on a follow-up trip to Uganda in January of 2012 and more students will go to Uganda in 2013. This trip was inspired by our documentary, Essubi: Growing up with Hope, from 2010.
