Meet Your Instructor

Namaste~ My name is Jessie Sandoval and I have been teaching Yoga for the past 10 years.  I currently teach the student, faculty and staff classes at the College of Saint Benedict and a morning yoga class at the Wellness Studio in St. Joe.  My Yoga journey started during a yoga class in college and grew into a passion that lead me to teacher training in Houston, TX in 2003, shortly following graduate school.  I am certified through Yoga Alliance having completed an intensive 1 year of yoga training.  I have taught corporate yoga, gym yoga and studio yoga; yoga for seniors, children, and pre/post natal yoga.  My experience also includes teaching private yoga sessions and creating yoga retreats and workshops.  In addition, I have trained other yoga instructors; working with them to develop their teaching techniques, methodology and overall confidence in their teaching.

Yoga has provided an abundance of peace and serenity in my life and my ultimate desire is to share Yoga with everyone.  Through my teaching, I hope people learn simple yet powerful ways to energize their body, mind and spirit.  I sincerely believe yoga is an amazing form of exercise because each individual encounters a different path or journey in his/her practices - no two people are the same and no two yoga practices are alike.  In other words, yoga is unique to each person who chooses to explore its many benefits.  One of my favorite quotes and a mantra that guides my practice and teaching is by B.K.S Iyengar who says, "Yoga works on each individual for his or her growth and betterment, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.  It is meant for the whole of humanity."
