Helgeson Dance Studio
Named in honor of the late Arlene Helgeson, a longtime friend of the college and performing arts, the dance studio and rehearsal space is located off the lobby on the first floor of the BAC expansion adjacent to the campus mall.
A large window in the studio allows the campus to view the dance and theater art forms and floods the space with dramatic natural light. It features a sprung floor and state-of-the-art acoustical treatments.
The studio highlights the growing dance program at CSB and SJU and creates wonderful partnership opportunities between the schools and national dance companies. As a fine arts laboratory space, the studio is used primarily for dance and theater classes and rehearsals.
Visiting dance artists also conduct master classes here for students and the local dance community. The space provides these professional companies the opportunity for creative work during their residency at the College of Saint Benedict.
