Cadet Rachel Stobb
Cadet Battalion Commander

Cadet Rachel Stobb graduated from Tracy Area High School in Tracy, MN. She is attending the College of St. Benedict where she plans on receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies with a minor in History. Cadet Stobb is an active SJU Arboretum volunteer, a member of Companions on a Journey, Sustainability Alliance and Intramural sports. Upon commissioning in May of 2012 she plans on branching into the MN Army National guard as an Engineer Officer. He hopes to also hold a Conservation career in MN.

"ROTC has been one of the most challenging and yet most rewarding experiences of my life.  I've gained valuable life skills, formed leadership qualities, and developed great personal relationships that have greatly benefitted me throughout my college career."


Cadet Ryan Miller
Cadet Executive Officer  

Cadet Ryan Miller graduated from Cretin-Derham Hall High School in St. Paul, MN.  He now attends St. John's University where he will be receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology.  Upon commissioning in May of 2012 he plans to branch into the US Army Reserves as a Military Intelligence officer.

"ROTC has challenged me and helped me grow both as a person and as a leader.  The leadership training and experience that ROTC has provided me is truly unique."


Cadet Christopher Boisjoli
Cadet Command Sergeant Major

Cadet Christ Boisjoli graduated from Duluth East High School in Duluth, MN.  He now attends St. Cloud State University where he will be receiving a degree in International Relations.  Cadet Boisjoli is an active member in the FSB Ranger Challenge and Bataan teams.  Upon commissioning in May of 2012, he plans on branching Ordnance and staying in the MN Army National Guard.

"ROTC has afforded me with the opportunity to participate in events like Ranger Challenge and be on a medal winning Bataan team. It has also allowed me to participate in training like Air Assault School.  It has helped me become the leader that I wanted to be."


Cadet Marissa Daly
Cadet S-1 / Personnel

Cadet Marissa Daly graduated from Northfield Senior High school in Northfield, MN.  She is attending the College of Saint Benedict where she plans on receiving a Bachelor of Arts in History.  Upon commissioning in May of 2012 Cadet Daly plans on branching into the MN Army National Guard as an Adjutant General Officer.  She later plans on branching Civil Affairs.

"ROTC is more than just a college experience.  It has transformed me from student, to leader.  It has presented me with more opportunities and has made me a more confident, driven and hardworking individual.  With that, ROTC has prepared me for, and set me up for a very successful future."


Cadet Bradley Downs
Assistant Cadet S-1 / Personnel

Cadet Brad Downs graduated from Golden Valley High School in Golden Valley, MN.  He now attends St. John's University where he plans on receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management.  Upon commissioning in May of 2012, CDT Downs plans on branching Military Intelligence or Aviation.

"I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into when I joined ROTC, but the lessons I've learned and the people I have met have made it worthwhile.  I look forward to my future as an Army officer and all the opportunities I will have because of ROTC at SJU."


Cadet Matthew Mollet
Cadet S-2 / Intelligence 

Cadet Matt Mollet graduated from Forest Lake High School in Forest Lake, MN.  He now attends St. John's University where he plans on receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management.  Cadet Mollet is a firefighter and a member of the SJU EMT squad and the SJU Fire Department.  He hopes to branch Transportation upon receiving his commission in May, 2012.

Cadet Benedict Zilka
Cadet S-3 / Training

Cadet Ben Zilka graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is attending St. John's University where he plans on receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. Cadet Zilka is the current Ranger Challenge team captain, a participant of the Army Tem Miler team and the Batann Memorial Death March Team. He is also a member of the SJU Arboretum volunteer team. Upon commissioning, Cadet Zilka plans on branching into the US Army Reserves as a Engineer officer and he plans on becoming a conservation officer for the MN DNR.

"ROTC has helped me develop my own leadership style by giving me the opportunity to lead in extracurricular activities such as Army Ten Miler, Ranger Challenge, Bataan Memorial Death March and many others. I never would have had these opportunities outside of ROTC."


Cadet Francesca Levine
Assistant Cadet S-3

Cadet Francesca Levine graduated from Jefferson High School in Bloomington, MN.  She is attending the College of St. Benedict where she will receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  Upon commissioning in May 2012, she will branch into the Army Nursing Corps.  She hopes to work at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.

"ROTC has pushed me to do things that I didn't think I would ever do and has allowed me to travel to places like Washington D.C., New Mexico, Georgia, and Hawaii."


Cadet Gretchen Leyendecker
Assistant Cadet S-3

Cadet Gretchen Leyendecker graduated from Lourdes High School in Rochester, MN.  She is attending the College of St. Benedict where to plans on receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a minor in coaching.  CDT Leyendecker was captain of the CSB hockey team for three years.  Upon commissioning in May 2012 she plans on branching into the Active Duty component of the Army as an Adjutant General Officer.  She hopes to pursue her teaching and coaching aspirations once she completes her Army career.

"ROTC has instilled the Army Values in every aspect of my life. It has helped me grow as a leader and helped me build relationships with my peers. I have also grown to love this country each day I get to put on my uniform."


Cadet John Thompson
Assistant Cadet S-3

Cadet John Thompson graduated from Bemidji High School in Bemidji, MN.  He is a current student at St. John's University where he plans on receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Pre-Law.  Upon commissioning in May of 2012 Cadet Thompson plans on branching Adjutant General, or Field Artillery.

Cadet Edward Githiora
Assistant Cadet S-3

Cadet Edward Githiora was born in Nairobi Kenya where he graduated from Kijabe High School in central Kenya. Upon arriving in the US in 2006 he joined the MN Army National Guard. It was there that he heard about ROTC and enrolled at St. John's University. Upon commissioning, CDT Githiora plans to go active duty in the Army Medical Service Corps. He later plans to go back to school to become a Nurse Practitioner and specialize in Mental Health issues. 

"Work is that which has not been achieved yet, past struggles and toiling are not to be referred to as work but as achievements and or lessons . So let us focus on what we have to do but not what we have already done."


Cadet Samuel Mock
Cadet S-4 / Logistics

Cadet Sam Mock is originally from Jacksonville Florida, but graduated from Waconia High school in Waconia, MN.  Cadet Mock now attends St. John's University where he will receive a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management.  Upon commissioning in May of 2012 he plans to branch into the Adjutant General Corps as an active duty officer.

Cadet Terrence Glommen-McCloskey

Cadet Terence Glommen-McCloskey graduated from Spring Lake Park High School in Spring Lake Park, MN. He now attends St. Cloud State University where he will be receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Entrepreneurship and a Minor in Criminal Justice. Cadet Glommen hopes to branch aviation with the Minnesota Army National Guard.

Cadet Margaret Gregg

Cadet Maggie Gregg graduated from Benilde-St. Margaret's High School in Minnetonka, MN.  She is attending the College of St. Benedict where she plans on receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in Secondary Educations.  She is the current CSB Track and Field Captain.  Upon commissioning in May of 2012 she plans on branching into the MN Army National Guard as an Adjutant General Officer.

Cadet Nicholas Lahti

Cadet Nick Lahti graduated from Providence Academy Alum in Orono, MN.  He now attends St. John's University where he plans on receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies, and he is a member of Redgage Mens' Leadership group.  Upon commissioning in the summer of 2012 he plans to branch into the MN Army National Guard as an Infantry Officer.

Cadet Benjamin Johnson

Cadet Ben Johnson graduated from Osseo Senior High school in Osseo MN. He now attends St. Cloud State University where he plans on receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Communication Studies. Upon commissioning in May of 2012 Cadet Johnson hopes to branch Quartermaster.

Cadet Patrick Heagel
Company Training Officer

Cadet Patrick Heagel graduated from Sioux City North High School in Sioux City, Iowa.  He now attends St. John's University where he will be receiving a Bachelor of Arts in History.  CDT Heagel is a dedicated Army Ten Miler participant, and this year's team captain.  Upon commissioning in May of 2012, he plans on branching into the Army Chemical Corp where he hopes to remain in the Midwest.

Cadet Jacob Morris

Cadet Jacob Morris graduated from Willmar High School in Willmar, MN.  He now attends St. John's University where he will receive a Bachelor of Arts History with a Spanish minor.  Upon commissioning in May of 2012, Cadet Morris hopes to branch into the Active Duty component of the US Army as an Engineer Officer.  He hopes to one day be stationed in Germany.

Cadet Steven Poepping graduated from Annandale High School in Annandale, MN.  He is attending St. Cloud State University where he is planning on majoring in Accounting.  Upon commissioning Cadet Poepping plans to branch Military Intelligence and later go on to become Certified Public Accountant for an accounting firm.

Being a Cadet and a full-time student is not an easy task; it has forced me to deal with stress and time management enabling me to set up career opportunities. For me the connection between Cadet and Student is made by saying, being good at one, makes me better at the other."
