Land Stewardship Projects
Practicing sustainable land use is an important aspect of our mission at Saint John’s Arboretum. Maple syruping, prescribed burns, and native plant restoration are a few examples of our ongoing projects.

Forest Stewardship Council Certification
Saint John’s Arboretum is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council as a green forestry operation. This means that Saint John’s harvests timber on a rotating basis in order to promote forest diversity and the natural beauty of the land.

Members of the Saint John's Abbey, CSB/SJU professors, and natural resource professionals have documented the unique biological communities present at Saint John's through research and writing.
