Hola a todo. I'm Alivia Tison, a senior, a Hispanic Studies major, and a Writing minor. I like to think of myself as somewhat of a night owl, a bear hugger, a happy clam, a quiet mouse, a sly cat, and a fish out of water. I can be found cracking up, diving down, reaching out, and closing in. Basically, I like nouns including peoples, places, and ideas... and I like some verbs including dancing, sharing, and harmonizing... Adjectives are great too when they include tasty, swell, and bonita. I like that nouns, verbs, and adjectives can fit into the puzzle of writing. There are so many different types of puzzles, but each one involves a piecing together of ideas, thoughts, actions, reactions, and constructing them in a way that makes sense, tells a story, makes an impact. I like writing because it is hard to piece together, the pieces don't always fit, and there are seemingly always pieces missing. However, when that moment comes and the puzzle can paint its message, the writer discovers a new part of the world and themselves. Writing can create beautifully tragic and tragically beautiful images that can be instilled in a reader, invoke change, and inspire action. The pieces of action verbs, passive verbs, past tenses, subjunctives, and future tenses tell the story of time. It is a thoughtful way to communicate, but there is always more to the puzzle, a new discovery to be made, and we have the chance to figure it out. Talk about peace of mind!
