Walter Adams

Dr. Walter Adams is a distinguished economist, author and public speaker. Upon receiving the Ph.D. in economics from Yale University in 1947, Dr. Adams began a long term at Michigan State University, where he was professor of economics as well as the university's 13th president. He was named Michigan Professor of the Year by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education in 1986 and, in 1991, was chosen by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the ten best professors in the United States. Admas has been a consultant to the Small Business Committees of the U.S. Congress and to the Senate Judiciary Committee. He was appointed to various committees by Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson. His articles have appeared in such journals as the American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics and Columbia Law Review and he has authored or coauthored several books, including The Brain Drain, The Structure of American Industry, The Bigness Complex, Dangerous Pursuits: Mergers and Acquisitions in the Age of Wall Street, and Anitrust Economics on Trial.
